TORONTO CHARTER
The Toronto Charter is a call to action directed at people who influence and make decisions about the provision of HIV  & AIDS services for Indigenous Peoples around the world. The recommendations of the charter is to ensure the participation of Indigenous Peoples in all programmes related to the prevention of HIV and the care and support for Indigenous Peoples living  with HIV & AIDS.

INA provides an Indigenous knowledge base and Māori world  view services for Māori, Indigenous and Pasifika peoples living with HIV
         

  • Te Whare Tapa Whā holistic approach to living  with HIV

          

  • Providing one on one peer support, in person, on  the phone, by email and text messaging

           

  • Advocacy

           

  • Advice/referral service for other groups and  agencies

           

  • Hui Wānanga (Annually) - training to become an  advocate or HIV/AIDS Māngai/ambassador - public speaking training

           

  • Whānau support group - Whānau infected/affected  by HIV Tāutoko for diagnosis, disclosure living with HIV, referrals to support psychological services and other agencies

          

  • Whānau, hapū and Iwi disclosure support to  provide information that will reduce stigma and discrimination

Fees
Fees are negotiable for the HIV Training/Wananga; for  mileage (0.64 cents per km), accommodation (if any) and koha (fee/donation) to  INA, depending on length of training session (from 1 to 5 hours, 2 days etc.)  to distance travelled.
         
The support services to Whanau living with HIV are funded by  our sponsors. Free to you...
