INA Te Aaronga - Maori World View

Affirming the relationships that tangata whenua and other people have to each other individually or with whānau, hapū and iwi through a common whakapapa and  reciprocal obligations inherent in that relationship.  

Tikanga of INA HIV/AIDS Foundation derived from Whakawhānaungatanga


  • Maintain acknowledging our whakapapa ties to the wider oceanic community of the South pacific.


  • To move forward together and inclusively


  • To establish and maintain partnerships within these communities that maximises resources and decreases duplication of  services


  • To promote respect for all cultures and ensure all people have an understanding of, and respect for the status of tangata whenua


  • To promote and contribute to the response to HIV/AIDS, in Āotearoa and the Pacific


  • To encourage relationships/partnerships between whānau, hapū, iwi, other HIV/AIDS organisations and the Foundation that reflect inter-dependence


  • To promote whānaungatanga as the model for good collective/collaborative arrangements between different organisations
